Students arrived on Monday morning at the San Antonio Banquet and Event Center to further their education about wedding consulting by taking the ACPWC training class.
By the end of Day 1, I knew this was going to be a fun week. One student was getting over strep throat and another was still suffering the pains of a recent fall. A student from Dallas had to battle really bad weather and cancelled flights to get to class. I have seen great examples of unbendable determination. By Day 2, fast friendships had already formed.
On Day 1, we talked about creating a firm business foundation, and day two moved into more interesting topics like marketing and advertising (the Bird of Paradise can be an interesting example of what kinda of advertising doesn’t always work), timelines and working with other professionals.
Day 3 was “Details Day”, where we talked about all the interesting stuff like managing the wedding weekend and directing a wedding. Students were also exposed to “the secret weapon,” an artistic tool for their creativity box.
I have thoroughly enjoyed this week with the Texas team! More later.
