ACPWC Tips on How to Start Your Own Wedding Planning Business

In order to help you reach success, the ACPWC has put together a plan called DIVO…Direction, Influence, Value and Organization… a series of articles designed to help you get started in your own wedding planning business.  This week we’ll talk about Direction, the first article in our series.

As a small business owner, this is very important.  Decide where you want your business to take you by setting clearly defined goals, and review and adjust them regularly.  Without goals the big picture can seem overwhelming.  Ask yourself questions such as:  What is my vision?  What am I trying to do in my position?  What do I think the business is trying to achieve; it’s purpose?

Be sure to get input from others in your field.  There is no match for experience.  Seasoned Certified Wedding Consultants have taken bumps and bruises that you can avoid if you get their input.  Add in their advice and come up with your own vision and plan of action.  Set smaller goals that inspire and clearly direct you to your larger goal.   Ask yourself daily: What am I trying to accomplish today?  Will this help me reach my goal?  Adjust accordingly.
