Have you ever heard of a honeymoon registry? Honeymoon registries have become ever so popular and consist of providing a webpage that couples can give out. This allows their friends and family the ability to put money towards their honeymoon instead of buying a “traditional wedding gift, like another toaster. 🙂

Some brides may ask, “Does this show the proper etiquette?” According to an interview done by the Wall Street Journal of Peter Post, president of the Emily Post Institute,a Burlington, VT., etiquette think tank, “A honeymoon is a perfectly appropriate gift to request. There’s no objection to it from an etiquette point of view.”
So how does a honeymoon registry work and where can you find one?
- The couple typically uses a travel agency to organize the trip, who in turn creates a webpage for the couple that includes their honeymoon details. Most of the honeymoon registries, like TheHoneymoon.com, has postcards you can send or insert with your wedding invitation that includes your webpage on it.
There are several honeymoon registries to choose from. Many resorts and airlines, like Delta Airlines, have honeymoon registries. Simply find one you feel comfortable with, read their terms and agreements and start planning your honeymoon.
