Why Women-Owned Businesses Are Succeeding

Fifty years ago it became popular for women to leave their Susie Homemaker lives and join the work force.  Today we see a different movement happening.  Women are leaving the workforce and becoming entrepenuers.  Why such a change? In an article written by Rohit Arora from biz2credit, he lists several reasons why women-owned businesses are thriving.  Here are a few:

1. Costs of launching a business have dropped.
2. The idea of working from home suits many females just fine.
3. Promotional costs have plummeted, thanks to digital marketing and social media
4. More women than men attend and graduate from college now.

Since the cost of starting your own business is so much less, why wouldn’t more women opt for this?  Working long hours, climbing corporate ladders and dealing with the politics can get quite stressful.  Today women are opting to work their own businesses from home, so they can have the freedom and flexibility to take care of their families and find fulfillment in their career. Here are a few important tips to keep in mind when considering launching your own business:

1.  Be confident and move forward – You will be making a lot of decisions that may not be easy, but this is all a part of learning and growing.
2. Take advantage of training programs and ongoing education – This is very important to stay on top of your field.
3. Find an experienced mentor – They will help you along the way and be a great resource for you.
4. Set realistic limits, but do not hold yourself back – Keep your balance
5. Take advantage of business resource organizations – Always look for advice on how to effectively grow your business and utilize networking opportunities.
